Internship Program

Since 2002, Corazón has partnered with the University of New Mexico Counseling Department, New Mexico Highlands University and New Mexico State University’s Schools of Social Work to provide a quality internship experience for graduate students.  We have also partnered with the American Sign Language Academy.  At Corazón we are especially interested in working with bilingual and bicultural students, as those are primarily the populations that we serve.  Our hope is to increase the number of professionals with clinical experience who have an in-depth understanding of the I/DD population.  Our interns are able to pursue areas of the I/DD population that interest them, including research and policy issues.
